Event Profile: The 5th China International Scientific Instrument and Laboratory Equipment Exhibition (CISILE2007) is a large-scale exhibition sponsored by China Instrument Manufacturer's Association, undertaken by Beijing Lamp Exhibition Co., Ltd., authorized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, and has won strong support from Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Machinery Industry Federation, China Educational Instrument & Equipment Association and the Industry Promotion Bureau of the People's Government of Beijing. It is also a professional exhibition in the community of scientific instruments with the most extensive coverage and the most comprehensive influence in the field of China's scientific instruments. The 4th China International Scientific Instrument and Laboratory Equipment Exhibition (CISILE2006) held in Beijing drew in major domestic production enterprises of analytical instrument, lab equipment, optical instrument, testing equipment for mechanical properties of materials, biochemical instrument and technologies as well as some well-known international enterprises from the US, Germany, the UK, Japan,etc. It attracted nearly 400 participating enterprises and 15,000 professional visitors from all provinces and municipalities of the country as well as more than 200 foreign visitors form the rest of the world, filling many hotels as large and grand as the several times over. During CISILE 2006, 20 technical communication meetings were held whose speakers included academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, leaders concerned from State Environmental Protection Administration, technicians and management from Beijing Technical Supervision Bureau, experts and entrepreneurs in the community, etc. These high-standard and high-level communication activities were spoken highly of by visitors and exhibitors, which initiated the Award of Independent Innovation of the exhibition.
